If a president resigns from a board, does it mean the past president also must resign?
Dear Steve,
Absolutely not. However, if you have a past president in the bylaws, then instead of the president who resigns becoming the past president, he is also resigning from that position too because he has not filled his term. But you need to see what your bylaws state. If this becomes a problem, I would recommend that your bylaws state that for the president to become the past president he must fill his term as president.
Cheerio,
Little Ben
